  • In the week before and the week after your procedure, you must cease taking anticoagulant medication such as Aspirin, Thomapyrin and Thrombo Ass

  • The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis in our practice premises

  • No general anesthesia necessary, only local anesthesia

  • Depending on the region, the procedure takes approx. 1.5 – 2 hours

  • The cheek, neck or temple area can be lifted

  • Cold packs and resting the head in an elevated position work well against any kind of swelling

  • Lymphatic drainage speeds up the healing process

  • Suture removal after 7 – 14 days

  • Patients may return to work after a recovery period of approx. 2 – 3 days, sometimes even as soon as the next day

  • No sports or strenuous activities until suture removal

  • NO Aspirin or other anticoagulant medication within the first postoperative week

  • The best thing is to stop nicotine consumption completely in the first postoperative week

  • Within the first few days of recovery the face may show swelling and discolouration

  • In very rare cases, especially in cases of heavy smokers, circulatory disorders, wound healing disorders, wound infections and unsightly scarring may occur

  • Compared to classic lifting methods, partial changes in motor function are very rare
