State-of-the-art procedures for a fresh appearance

The applied operating technique depends on what part of the face the patient wishes to rejuvenate and how intensely. A variety of state-of-the-art techniques is available to choose from: from a minimally invasive forehead lift, minilift, scar-reducing short scar facelift, mid-face lift to a classic SMAS neck/face lift.

What is certain is that thanks to these state-of-the-art techniques, a natural, rejuvenated, and fresher appearance without mask-like features can be realized.

  • Preliminary medical assessment carried out by the patient’s GP or internal specialist

  • In the week before and the week after your procedure, you must cease taking anticoagulant medication such as Aspirin, Thomapyrin and Thrombo Ass

  • Nicotin and alcohol consumption should also be limited

  • Usually under general anesthesia or twilight sedation, including an inpatient overnight stay

  • Depending on the region and the applied operating technique, the procedure takes approx. 3 – 4 hours

  • Depending on the patient's wishes and which part of the face is to be refreshed, the appropriate surgical method is chosen (minimally invasive forehead lift, minilift, scar-reducing MACS lift, mid-face lift, classic SMAS neck/face lift, fat injections)

  • At the end of the procedure, a specially adapted facial bandage is applied, which can be removed after 1 – 2 days

  • Cold packs and resting the head in an elevated position work well against any kind of swelling

  • Lymphatic drainage speeds up the healing process

  • Suture removal after 7 – 14 days

  • Recovery time approx. 2 weeks

  • Sports and exercise after 4 weeks

  • NO Aspirin or other anticoagulant medication

  • The best thing is to completely stop alcohol and nicotine consumption in the first 4 postoperative weeks

  • Within the first 2 weeks of recovery the face may show (severe) swelling, discolouration and may feel slightly numb

  • In very rare cases, especially in cases of heavy smokers, circulatory disorders, wound healing disorders, wound infections and unsightly scarring may occur

  • Partial changes in motor function have been documented in very few cases which usually improve spontaneously
